Smile for a Lifetime Applications Accepted for Spring 2014

The Smile for a Lifetime Board of Directors is currently accepting applications for the Spring of 2014.  Smile for a Lifetime is a charitable, non-profit organization that provides free orthodontic care to children from our community. The Wilmington Chapter of Smile for a Lifetime awards 8 scholarships each year to deserving, under-served children.  To find out if you or someone you know qualifies or to download an application, please visit the Campbell Orthodontics website which is www.campbellsmiles.com and click on the Smile for a Lifetime link.  The next application deadline is March 31st, 2014.   

Our Internet Cafe has New Computers!

In order to serve our patients better, we recently updated the computers in our internet café.  Now our patients and their family members can enjoy the convenience of logging on to one of these computers during their appointment time.  Also, our patients can now connect to the Patient Rewards Hub and check their point totals while they are still in our office.  We are excited to offer access to these new and improved high-speed systems. 

Dental Health Month Field Trips at Campbell Orthodontics

This week Campbell Orthodontics once again welcomes elementary school children from Wilmington into our office for our Dental Health Month field trips.  We always look forward to and enjoy this opportunity to teach children about dental health and about the specialty of orthodontics.  We look forward to an exciting week with children, teachers and parents.  Happy Dental Health Month Everyone!

Dr. Campbell at Continuing Education Event

Dr. Campbell attended an amazing continuing education event last week in Phoenix, Arizona.  This course was taught by two awesome Damon System doctors...Dr. Frost and Dr. Graham.  Thanks so much Dr. Frost and Dr. Graham for sharing your Damon Smiles and beautiful finishes.  Dr. Campbell is excited to bring the latest advancements in orthodontic care to the patients of southeastern North Carolina.

Happy Orthodontic Health Month!

October is National Orthodontic Health Month but with Halloween around the corner kids of all ages will be tempted to indulge in sugary treats. Here are some timely "tricks" to safely enjoy those tempting "treats."

Say "Boo!" to sticky and chewy snacks such as caramel, gummies, taffy, jelly beans, bubblegum and popcorn.  Even if you don’t wear braces, aligners or other orthodontic appliances, be careful with these types of treats to prevent damage to your teeth.

While some candy is permissible, such as soft chocolates, peanut butter cups or other melt-in-your-mouth varieties, please remember to enjoy these goodies in moderation during the Halloween season and throughout the year.

 It’s also important to be especially vigilant about brushing and flossing during any holiday or celebration when you’ll be eating more sweets than usual.

Halloween falls during National Orthodontic Health Month and Dr. Campbell, along with the American Association of Orthodontists, encourages everyone to have a safe and enjoyable holiday!
